OUR Birthday Weekend - Portland and Cannon Beach

when your birthday falls on a holiday weekend, you get lucky and get multiple celebrations! for our birthday weekend we drove to Portland for one night. When we arrived, the sun was shining so we took Vail to Jameson Park. We have been visiting Portland for years and always talked about bringing our kids to this park. We finally had the chance and she loved it!

We stopped to pick up lunch on our way to Jameson Park

The police with the horses came in the park and the kids and parents swarmed around them. Vail got to pet the horse and she wouldn't stop talking about it all night.

I forgot Vail's swimsuit so we let her run around in her diaper. When she would run back to get a bite to eat, she wanted to be wrapped in this towel. She thought she looked so cute in it, AND she did.

We love how walkable the city is. We spent the afternoon strolling through the Pearl District. Stella got some cuddle time on the bench like old times.

Vail LOVED the hotel room. Jumping on a king size bed was so exciting and we even ordered room service. Her favorite evening activity was putting stickers all over us and herself.

After our evening in Portland we headed to our favorite spot, Cannon Beach. It was a pleasant drive from P-town and much shorter.

The weather was windy and cold but we didn't let that stop us from getting on the beach and playing in the sand. Theo taught Vail how to throw the ball for stella with her chuck-it and walked her through all the tide pools to look at the starfish (Vail calls them fish stars) and sea creatures. We went swimming in the pool at the resort, walked the town and ate lots of ice-cream and pizza.

Cannon Beach is Stella's favorite place in the world. It was kind of sad to see her poop out so quickly when she used to run for hours and hours. Theo, Vail and I were down by the water and I looked back for Stella and she was laying on our blanket. The funny thing is that she had a crowd full of people around her taking her picture. What a funny girl.

I hate to admit that Vail still has a nighttime bottle but it is one of my favorite times of the day. We lay together and snuggle and I rub her feet. It is "our" time and I will cherish these moments forever.

Vail loves the sand. Can't wait to take her to Hawaii where the weather is warmer and she can really play.

Stella equally loves the sand :)

My angel

I don't think we could love each other any more. She is my sweet angel love.

I love when she rubs her face on mine. Like she can't get close enough to me or love me enough.

We love to laugh together, it is contagious.

We can't stop sometimes...  :)

We can't take credit for this huge hole but we sure had fun playing in it.

Our last night we celebrated our birthdays. From the first birthday I celebrated with Theo, we have been going to CB and he always makes a special celebration in our room. Now I get to share that tradition with my sweet angel Vail. We had a great weekend and made lots of memories.
